Story Sequencing with Lost and Found

In this third grade classroom, the teacher conducted an interactive read-aloud of Oliver Jeffers’ Lost and Found.

After the read-aloud, she provided pairs of pupils with key images from the story. Their task was to cut out the images and paste them on a new sheet of paper in the right order. Then, they were asked to write a caption for each image to create a summary of the story.

A task like this one not only activates comprehension skills, but productive language skills as well.
